When Two Great Communities Combine: Pav-Fit x MMT
On Thursday, June 13th our community tier group from the Pavilion school visited Melbourne Muscular Therapies HQ in Ferntree Gully as part of am educational excursion for better health outcomes. The Pav-fit students worked with some of the best hands in the ‘bodywork’ industry and were able to learn and discuss the holistic & healing modalities they use to treat their clients.
What is ‘BODY-WORK’?
Bodywork is a holistic and skilfully applied form of massage therapy that offers profound cognitive and wellness benefits. These practices can help reduce stress, enhance mood, and improve focus and mental clarity. Bodywork, with its broader, more holistic approach, focuses on the inherent connection between mind and body. It also offers a significant reduction in pain and dysfunction and can be the catalyst of healing for many injuries. Individuals report an increase in mindfulness and improvements in emotional balance and mental well-being.
Melbourne muscular therapies have been practicing the application of this along with their continuous learning of movement mechanics, where they are now translating this into functional strength and barefoot sprint classes every week. They have shifted the lives of many people that have entered their friendly and passionate community, taking people from chronic pain and immobility and returning them to their optimal way of being.
To share this experience with the students was a dream come true. There’s something truly powerful about merging two great communities together. We will be looking to revisit this collaboration as our program continues to evolve.
Thank you to MMT for the positive experience of safe contact through play, movement and bodywork. And thank you to the Pav-Fit students for being vulnerable, staying open and allowing us to play a role in your growth & development towards your happiness & health.
